Transmission Controller Freelance Contract
Progressive global broadcaster client requires a Transmission Controller on freelance/contract basis with significant Transmission experience and ideally experience in Streaming and VOD.
The Transmission Controller will be responsible for prepping and routing, maintaining the scheduled play out of multiple transmission channels in the Transmission facility. Duties will include managing schedules, identifying missing material, monitoring feeds and resolving any transmission issues.
You will manage a multi-transmission pod, monitoring outgoing and return feeds and maintains the on-air presence of the channels at all times. You will be responsible for manual transmission control and maintaining on-air presence control during live broadcasts including sports, entertainment and global simulcasts.
TX Controllers generally work 12.5 hour shifts, averaging 40 hours per week over a 4 week rotation, including nights and weekends but essentially as required and agreed up front.
You will have experience in a similar role, either within a multi-channel, fully automated transmission environment and will ideally have some exposure to live transmission events and thrive working within a live broadcast environment. You will have an excellent operational knowledge of transmission technologies and be comfortable working in an informal environment where teamwork, accessibility and pragmatism are emphasized. Experience with streaming and VOD workflows and practices is also going to be a major asset. LTX or similar experience is preferred.
