Our high profile broadcaster client based in West London is looking for a Transmission Controller to add to their freelance roster.
The Live Transmission Controller will be responsible for maintaining the scheduled play out of Live and Pre record events which feature on their channel portfolio.
Duties will include:
- Prepping and setting up the channel to run live events
- Routing the feeds
- Handling commentator line ups
- Managing the playlist during the live event
- Maintaining on-air presence.
- Monitoring outgoing and return feed
- Loading schedules
- Identifying missing material
- Resolving any transmission issues in a timely manner should they occur
The operator after training will also be required to manage channels in a multi-transmission pod whilst non live events are playing.
Requirements
- Whilst Transmission experience is not necessarily required ideally the person will have some experience in live production eg sports, vision mixing, console operations, gallery etc
- Must thrive working within a live broadcast environment.
- Good operational knowledge of transmission technologies a benefit
- Comfortable working in an informal environment where teamwork, accessibility and pragmatism are emphasized
Shifts are 12 hours and can include overnights and weekends once the person is fully trained. The person has the opportunity to cover 10-16 shifts per month.
TX experience is not necessarily required but ideally the person will have some experience in live production eg sports, vision mixing, console operations, gallery etc
Rate of pay is £27/hour PAYE gross or £23/hour ltd company (with LP10 letter).
